“Pass Time” In Montgomery
SPEED Channel Hit Game Show Comes To MMP Park In April
Pre-registration
& Application
(April
7, 2008) -- SPEED Channel’s hit television series is coming to
Montgomery. Episodes of the exciting interactive game show will be shot
Friday and Saturday, April 25th and 26th at Montgomery Motorsports Park, a
1/4 mile NHRA drag strip located on the north side of Montgomery (2600 North
Belt Drive). Fans and their families are invited to be a part of the live
action and can contact MMP for more information (334-260-9660).
“PASS TIME” is currently SPEED Channel’s top rated
program and airs daily (7:30pm EST / 6:30pm CT) on the cable network. “So
much of the enjoyment at the track is derived from guessing just how fast
these cars will run the quarter-mile down the drag-strip”, Speed Programming
Vice President Robert Ecker says. “This phenomenon lends itself to a
traditional game show format that is both fun to play and fun to watch,
bringing every smoke-filled burnout directly into the viewer’s living room”.
Created by Executive Producer Rich Christensen
and produced by High Five Entertainment, a Nashville-based
production company “PASS TIME” was the first series to emerge from SPEED
Channel’s Sunday-night incubator block called “LAUNCH HOUR”. HFE
President Martin Fischer isn’t surprised by the show’s success.
“SPEED Channel viewers are so incredibly passionate about motor sports. Rich
Christensen and Bob Ecker gave them a voice via Launch Hour. We just
listened.”
The show’s premise is simple…"Name the time, win the
cash, it’s that easy". Drivers tell three contestants about their car. Host
Brett Wagner allows each contestant to ask the driver one question
only. Based on that information, contestants “lock in their times” before
the driver makes a pass. The contestant whose guess is closest to the actual
time wins cash. The player with the most cash at the end of the game wins.
But there’s a twist. Players must compete against “PASS TIME’S resident
automotive expert, Kenneth Herring. “It’s a game show for gear-heads
that’s fun for the whole family”, says HFE Motorsports Producer Ray
Iddings. “We’re really hoping fans turn out to be a part of the live
action in Montgomery next month. Having an enthusiastic crowd on hand adds
so much great energy to the show”.
High Five Entertainment also produces “DRAG RACE HIGH” for SPEED
Channel. The show pits rival high schools against each other in a battle of
brains, resourcefulness and school pride. “DRAG RACE HIGH” airs Wednesdays
(10 p.m. EST / 9pm CT) on SPEED.
